Dance a HAKA with your company
Some activities break the ice and others get your team moving with the same rhythm and energy. Prepare a haka with your team, learn the rhythmic and phonetic basics of this traditional dance and take to the stage with strength and confidence.
Ready to feel just like the All Blacks?
You will move to the same rhythm.
And you will all do it together.
The haka is a traditional Māori performance danced as a group that expresses celebration, challenge and cohesion. It is as popular in sport as it is inspiring for any team that wants to move to the same rhythm.
During the activity you will learn all about the history of the dance and its context. You will form groups and each one will perform its haka with its own make-up. Fun, energising, liberating… what more could you ask for?

SUCCESS STORIES
Our clients
How we put together the best Haka step by step
01. We understand what we are going to perform
- The first thing is to introduce the full tradition of the haka, explaining the activity and presenting the guidelines for performing this dance with the energy and respect it deserves.
02. We learn the rhythm and the words
- You will all practise the basic movements and phonetics together (it is sung and danced) with our team of professionals. We will give you roll-up banners with the lyrics so you can follow them. Keeping the rhythm is up to you.
03. We give each group its own identity
- As we will divide you into groups, each one will have to create its own interpretation and dance. The small creative elements will make the difference between a generic performance and one with personality.
04. We rehearse and get into character
- You will repeat everything several times until you feel confident, and then comes the most fun part: putting on make-up like a Māori. It is perfect for losing a little self-consciousness and listening to one another.
05. The whole event ends up beating to the same rhythm
- Each team performs its haka and, to finish, you come together for one big group performance. The captain of the winning group will be the person in charge of leading everyone and celebrating together. Pure company unity.

DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?
What exactly is the haka?
It is a traditional ceremonial performance of the Māori people. You will have seen it thousands of times at rugby matches or competitions involving the New Zealand national team, but it is also associated with celebration and group connection. As a team building activity, it is fantastic for losing your inhibitions and enjoying moving in sync as a team.
Do you need to know how to dance or be in great physical condition?
You do not need to know how to dance. We have instructors who will teach you the full sequence and will have all the patience in the world while you learn it little by little. You will need to be fully engaged and willing to move and raise your voices. The important thing is not to do it perfectly, but to move together.
Is the activity done in teams or does everyone do it at the same time?
Both options can be done without any problem. The group can be divided to create several different performances and hold a small competition, or prepare a single performance with everyone.
We can organise it indoors, but also outdoors, provided we have enough space to move and rehearse. At Wevents, we take care of finding the perfect location in any city in Spain, such as Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia.
How much does it cost to organise a Haka for companies?
The budget will always depend on how many participants there are and whether we need to book a specific venue. The activity budget includes the instructors, lyric displays, make-up and materials to remove it. Tell us where you want to bring the team together and we will prepare a tailored proposal for you.
